A history long as it is beautiful, the Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Club is still here and active in community service for over 112 years. Once a year the club takes time out to honor local individuals serving their neighborhoods in the Dutchess County and the surrounding areas of New York State!

On Friday, July 11, 2025, the Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Club which is part of a state wide organization held it’s “117th Annual State Convention Empire State Federation of Women’s Clubs Inc,” at the Doubletree Hilton Hotel in Poughkeepsie, NY. The convention honored 10 amazing individuals and their contributions to community, education and service.
The program was inspiring and filled with passionate speakers, praise dancing, poetry and thoughtful thank you’s for sharing and illuminating the recipients good work.

HISTORY
The Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Club (established 1913) is the Poughkeepsie, NY, connection to the network of women’s clubs and The Les Sours Amiables Civic Club (established 1948) is the Beacon, NY, connection also connected to the network of women’s clubs. These women lead organizations under the umbrella of the Empire State Federation of Women’s Clubs, were formed to protect women, children who work and promote education and civic engagement.
