Newburgh’s National Night Out, 2025 Addition!

The City of Newburgh went all out on National Day Out for the members of its community. The fun and activities started at 5:00pm with part of its main street, Broadway being partially blocked off for the evening until 8:00pm.

On the second Tuesday of August each year, National Night Out Day is celebrated across the entire UNITED STATES. This year the day fell on August 5th 2025. It’s a Nationwide Day filled with activities and fun events meant to help foster a better understanding among community members and their local Police Departments. It’s a day that has been helping to create harmony within neighborhoods and safe spaces for everyone within their communities.
The City of Newburgh had many activities and celebrations are held right on Broadway. The local police including the auxiliary police were fully present, with a booth set up that provided burgers and information to the community. Other booths provided information about various programs such as Newburgh’s Water Project and the Walk for Alzheimers. There was also face painting and a rock climbing wall as tall as a house!

The Newburgh’s National champion High School track coach, Coach Burks was in attendance along with the team that raced neighboring kids all evening. Several churches were also represented. Over many years the Town of Newburgh’s Mount Carmel Church has been a mainstay for the city of Newburgh’s National Night. They distributed some note pads, crayons and a long line of the popular delicious flavored Icees.
