About 32 young people planned, cooked and hosted their first “Summer Ready Cookout” at 50 N. Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie. If you were lucky enough to stop by, you would have tried some delicious jerk chicken right off the grill! Football Coach Jarmar “Pop” Richardson and his family helped the kids earn their Grill Master status. The youth leaders also facilitated games, handled the D.J, booth and announced the summer ready giveaways which were bikes donated by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

“My Dad cooked out, we had jerk chicken, mac and cheese, salad, some peppers and lots of things. We also had an Nintendo Switch out, there was a big screen and we played Nintendo Switch on it. It was really fun!
